What to Do About a Herpes Genital Outbreak

Posted on 18 April 2011

There are two different types of herpes. The first is usually in the form of a cold sore, while the other is more severe.

A herpes genital outbreak can be especially devastating. This is especially true if you were not expecting to become infected.

Genital herpes is actually one of the most contagious of all STD’s. You may have contracted herpes if you notice pain, itches, and sores or lesions in your genital area.

Don’t think that you can get rid of the disease easily either. There is currently no cure for genital herpes. Your best bet is to get suppressive therapy. Even then, you can still pass the herpes genital virus to others.

Even though it can be very devastating, you can still enjoy an active social and sex life. There are many things you can do to avoid transmission.

It is also important to understand that you’re not alone. There are almost 45 million Americans who suffer from genital herpes. It is also interesting to note that more women than men experience herpes genital outbreaks.

Do not dwell on the fact that you have herpes. If you do, you will end up inhibiting your social life and may become reclusive. The best thing for you to do is visit your doctor and get put on something to suppress your herpes outbreaks.

There are different types of natural herpes suppressants you can try. You might have thought that it would never happen to you at that point in time. It may be a little bit embarrassing for you to admit that you’re one of those people now.

Having herpes doesn’t mean that you are dirty or even that you have unhealthy sex practices. That is why it is so important not to get down on yourself if you contract the herpes virus.

Taking care of your overall health will go a long way towards suppressing your herpes outbreaks. The sicker your body is, the more likely it is that you will experience an outbreak. The fewer outbreaks you have, the more manageable it is for you to have herpes.

A herpes genital outbreak is something that you should take seriously, but should not end your life as you know it. Many more people have herpes than you even realize.

Get over your initial embarrassment and seek therapy to suppress your herpes. The best thing for your peace of mind is to make sure you take care of your body.

I have found out that the use of ICE directly applied to affected area, in my case is around the anus and penis, slow down the break, although painful at the beginning but it numbs at the end, is an immediate relief. In some instances had completely stopped it.
Heat and humidity are my worst enemies.
Hope this is helpful for someone.

First: It attacks when you´re down, stressed, tired. Like the flu. Inminologic system can be downed by a stressing factor, i.e. a job deadline, too much excercise that lowers defenses. You should take Acyclovir diring these days.

Second, you can know its coming. Itch in the area, or some back pain, or pain in the pelvic area or in genital area, run to your Acyclovir and take 1g. Follow for 3-4 days until the attack stops. Then 500mg a day for a week for suppressing.

Third. Protect your partner, wife or husband. Never have sex when affected. Never. Or use condoms. Please protect them.

A combination of lysine (1250 mg), zinc (at least 30 mg), vitamin c (1000mg) and bioflavonoids (1000mg) taken daily will limit outbreaks significantly. There are several websites available with this info. Please note: taking less than 1250 mg of Lysine is not recommended because it will not have any impact on the virus!

i am 28 yrds old. I been living with herpes for about 8 years. I’m afraid to have any contract with everyone around me. Thus, never be in a relationship. I pretty much stay away from people. My family even more. Not everyone in my family know. Which makes me a little happy and sad about it. Even more, I hate going to the hospital because the doctor that were supports to help me, look down on me. How I got herpes? It’s embarrassing: I didn’t got it from sex. I go it from a cold sore…careless not washing my hands before going to the restroom. I don’t want to put too much information out. I don’t know what to do? I feel down about myself.
