Vaginal herpes is one of the most common sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), caused by the Herpes Simplex Virus.
Though many of the common STDs are caused by yeast, fungal and bacterial infections, vaginal herpes is rather caused by a virus.
Two types of Herpes Simplex Viruses may cause it, namely the Herpes Simplex Virus Type I and Type II.
